Celebrating Earth Day

Happy Earth Day! Look at how we celebrated earth day!

Today we are reminded of the need to take much better care of the earth we live in, for it is the only one we have!

In Dominican Republic , there are over 340 landfills, too many for such a small amount of land, with improper management that just allows them to grow and contaminate the air and rivers, causing widespread diseases.

At InspireDR we aim to instil environmental awareness in the boys through teaching the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Not only do we do the beach clean-up every month, but we take advantage of the plastic collected to build things and teach the boys that most used things can become a resource to build something else, instead of ending up in a polluting landfill.

This year, the boys made toy cars out of some of the trash collected at the beach (check them out in the pictures!). The boys also used recycling paper to post on the map how we can save the planet!
